What Is PHP?

About Our Partial Hospitalization Program in Ball Ground, GA

Clients in our partial hospitalization program can receive highly structured, intensive care while still maintaining a level of independence. The PHP is intended for clients who may need more support than traditional outpatient programming can provide but do not require 24/7 supervision. Clients receive the services they need during the day and are able to return home in the evenings. Our partial hospitalization program lasts three to six weeks, with programming taking place seven days a week for five hours a day.

Those participating in our PHP can benefit from the experience and guidance of our team, which includes a medical doctor, a nurse practitioner (NP), psychiatrists, licensed practical nurses (LPNs), registered nurses (RNs), and licensed counselors, therapists, and social workers. Our compassionate team is dedicated to providing personalized care, ensuring that each client develops the tools they need to move forward on the path to recovery.

Our partial hospitalization program serves adults who are struggling with addictions to substances such as:

  • Opioids
  • Alcohol
  • Cannabis
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Stimulants
  • Sedatives
  • Tobacco

In our PHP, we can also treat clients who have co-occurring mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and personality disorders, but they must have a primary diagnosis of a substance use disorder. We can also offer care for those who have a co-occurring eating disorder or obsessive-compulsive disorder, but our staff makes this determination on a case-by-case basis.

If you believe that you or someone you love could benefit from participating in our partial hospitalization program, we invite you to contact us today. We are available 24/7 to answer any questions you may have about our services, our admissions process, or how to get started.

What Services Does Our PHP Offer?

An Overview of Our Georgia Partial Hospitalization Program

Our partial hospitalization program provides the structure and support clients need to achieve long-term recovery. The flexibility of the program enables clients to focus on their healing while maintaining their daily routines and managing their responsibilities.

We customize each client’s care plan based on their specific needs and goals. In our partial hospitalization program, a client’s personalized care plan may include:

  • Medical care: Our highly skilled team, which includes a physician, a nurse practitioner, and nursing staff, is available to provide medical care whenever necessary. Clients who require medical care can meet with medical staff weekly or as needed.
  • Medication management services: Our staff can also provide medication management if necessary. At Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center, whether a client takes medication as part of their treatment is always a personal decision. If a client chooses to incorporate medication into their care plan, they can meet with a psychiatrist weekly or as needed.
  • Individual therapy: Individual therapy sessions provide a confidential space for clients to address personal concerns. Our licensed counselors lead weekly individual therapy sessions designed to help clients develop the skills and tools they need to support their recovery.
  • Group therapy: Group therapy offers a welcoming space for clients to share their experiences and connect with others who are on a similar healing journey. Group therapy sessions are led by a licensed counselor and include psychoeducation, skill-building, and process groups. During group sessions, we incorporate evidence-based practices, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). Counselors address topics such as improving communication skills, repairing relationships, and preventing relapse. Group sessions take place daily, with five to seven groups meeting each day.
  • Family therapy: We also offer family therapy sessions. Family programming takes place once a month for two days, and additional family sessions can be arranged if the client desires more family involvement.
  • Experiential therapy: Once a week, we offer experiential therapies, such as art, journaling, music, and yoga. These therapies give clients a creative outlet to express their emotions and engage in the recovery process.

There are several areas of the programming that I LOVE, but weekly yoga and DBT have to be some of the highlights.
