Georgia’s Leading Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Located in Ball Ground, Georgia, Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns. Our IOP provides a safe, welcoming space where clients can receive the tools and support they need to achieve lasting healing.

What Is an IOP?

IOP at Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center

IOPs provide a level of care that is more intensive than traditional outpatient therapy but less intensive than residential care. In our IOP, we provide customized support for adults who are suffering from addictions and co-occurring mental health concerns. Our services include individual, group, and family therapies. While the length of the program can vary depending on each client’s needs and progress, it generally lasts about 30 days.

What Are the Benefits of Participating in Our IOP?

Benefits of Our Intensive Outpatient Program

If you or someone you love is struggling with a substance use disorder, Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center’s intensive outpatient programming can help. Our IOP offers:

  • Flexible care: Our IOP provides a flexible care option. Clients in the IOP can receive consistent therapeutic support while still being able to continue their daily activities.
  • Individualized care plans: Clients in our IOP benefit from individualized care plans, which are customized based on their unique needs and goals. This helps ensure that each client receives the best, most appropriate care for them.
  • Comprehensive therapy: Our IOP offerings include individual, group, and family therapies. Individual therapy sessions provide a private setting where clients can work through personal concerns with the support of a licensed counselor. In group therapy sessions, clients can connect with others who are on a similar healing journey. Family therapy sessions can help clients strengthen their relationships and improve communication with their loved ones.
  • Continued support for those who have completed a higher level of care: Our IOP can serve as a step-down option for clients who have completed an inpatient or partial hospitalization program. The IOP provides structure that can help clients maintain their progress as they transition back to daily life.

Who Can Be Admitted to the IOP?

IOP Tailored to Fit Individual Needs

At Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center, eligibility for our intensive outpatient program is determined by a person’s current needs. You may qualify for our IOP if you:

  • Are struggling with an addiction, or with an addiction and a co-occurring mental health concern
  • Are facing challenges in your daily life related to ongoing substance use
  • Need structured support but do not require intensive, round-the-clock care
  • Are in need of treatment but would like to maintain a higher level of independence
  • Have completed a higher level of programming and are seeking ongoing guidance and support as you continue your healing journey

What Does Our Georgia IOP Treat?

Intensive Outpatient Program in Georgia

The intensive outpatient program at Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center serves adults age 18 and older who are struggling with addictions to substances such as alcohol, benzodiazepines, cannabis, sedatives, stimulants, tobacco, and opioids.

In our IOP, we can also provide care for clients who have co-occurring mental health concerns, including anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), but they must have a primary diagnosis of a substance use disorder. We can also treat those who have a co-occurring eating disorder or obsessive-compulsive disorder, but our care team makes this determination on a case-by-case basis.

No matter what you might be facing, it is important to remember that you are not alone. When you are ready to reach out for help, our expert team is here to support you on your journey to healing.

What Services Does Our IOP Offer?

Our Intensive Outpatient Program Services

In our IOP, we deliver effective, compassionate care for adults, including:

  • Group therapy: Led by a licensed counselor, group therapy provides clients with a safe space where they can share their experiences and receive support from their peers. During group therapy sessions, counselors incorporate evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Group therapy topics typically include stress management, communication skills, and coping strategies to reduce the risk for relapse. Our group sessions take place three times per week.
  • Individual therapy: In individual therapy, clients can address personal concerns in a confidential environment. In these sessions, our caring counselors listen without judgment and help clients develop the tools and skills they need to support their long-term recovery. Individual therapy sessions are offered every other week and are led by licensed counselors.
  • Family therapy: Family therapy sessions are offered on an as-needed basis. Led by licensed counselors, family programming can help clients build stronger relationships and improve their communication with loved ones.

There are several areas of the programming that I LOVE, but weekly yoga and DBT have to be some of the highlights.
